Danny is The Technical Producer.
Having closely collaborated on a number of projects, and having witnessed many more throughout his career, I’m consistently impressed by his ability to alchemize audacious ideas into reality. Danny masterfully integrates visionary ideation with meticulous execution, resulting in impactful experiences for attendees – and entire communities.
Danny’s unique talents are rooted in careful stewardship of his projects. His attention to detail and focus on lasting impact set him apart. Notably, he excels not only in technical aspects but also in prioritizing crew care – he is mindful in designing collaborative and supportive environments, ensuring both project success and team well-being.
When faced with creative challenges, Danny is among the first folks I think of to consult. His creative mind, innovative problem-solving, and practical approach make him an invaluable member of my creative community.
I worked with Danny as an experience designer for a large creative agency that designed interactive installations in public places, involving integrated sensing technology, projection and audio. Big ideas for big spaces. Danny made what we prototyped in our R&D lab a reality onsite without a hitch and in any weather.
Danny is, besides a reliable and expert production partner with a get-it-done attitude, an extremely creative mind. He’s is a joy to collaborate with and easy to talk to–his input comes from a place of practiced technical possibility and his involvement elevates any idea.
For anyone looking to transform spaces through light and sound and with a cultivated enthusiasm for the total guest experience, Danny is a fantastic force.
I met Danny in 2010, over many years, he played a pivotal role in our ability to transform large and small scale spaces into creative and interactive art and theater venues.
His capabilities range greatly and he has provided pivotal support for me in highly – conceptual, refined gallery productions and galas to permanent renovations of various art centers across the country. Most recently under his leadership we were able to spearhead a 50-acre, interactive lighting experience for thousands in downtown Atlanta, Heartbeat ATL.
During our 13 years of working together on various projects, I’ve always been grateful for and impressed by Danny’s aptitude for taking conceptual ideas and translating them into fully realized artistic productions. His unparalleled knowledge of materials, and sincere dedication to maintaining the integrity of the artistic vision, while effectively managing budgets and fostering meaningful relationships with artists and the public sets him apart from any other Technical Director I’ve ever worked with.
He is loyal, effective and sees every project through to the end with full focus and heart.
“… there was little he couldn’t coordinate for me, and I hired him quite often… One week, he was coordinating AV, lighting, and scenic vendors for a product launch event, and the next he was providing labor to unload trucks of high-end millwork into retail stores.”
In 2021 I saw even more of Danny’s resourcefulness. After a rough year in 2020, 2021 was filled with expensive materials, scarce labor, and clients who still expected us to maintain high standards, regardless of the challenges. At a time when the price of steel was fluctuating hourly, Danny was able to work with fabricators and designers to execute efficient builds that stayed true to the creative vision.
At a time when labor was scarce nationwide, Danny formed a touring production team for a Ragnar trail-race Nissan sponsorship program, comprising happy, multi-talented individuals who could, for instance, program LEDs, as well as repair steel brackets on top of Crystal Mountain.
In the projects I have done with Danny Davis, he has always made my work easier. He is eager to know the whole picture, but understands that details matter. He is happy to work as part of a team, but is always willing to take initiative. I would highly recommend him as an Event Producer.
